Despite so many other things that I wanted to blog about, this turned out to be the highlight of the day.
I slipped. And I fell.
Again, it all started out as a pleasant day. Went to the gym at noon to finish some workouts that I didn't get to do last night.
Came home, rested a bit before I ventured out to the city to buy stuff. I bought a Hugo Boss tomask my body odour. The thing with me is that I can't use any deodorant or antiperspirant. It all started last year. They give me pimples or cyst or whatever u call them in my armpits. I don't spray the perfume onto my armpits but on my clothes.
I also bought a shirt (no pic) so that I can be appropriately dressed to an event at uni tomorrow.
Then, I took a bus home. I walked to the nearby supermarket before heading home, to get some instant noodles for dinner.
And it happened. My eyes were fixed on the guys checking out at the self-checkout registers when I slipped.
I did it gracefully though. Just like how the Winter Olympians at Sochi crossed the finishing line without succumbing to the force of inertia.
The picture above shows how I looked like, during that one or two seconds.
I was at the entrance by the way, where the pool of audience could be large.
The top layer of skin was scrubbed off, maybe the size of a 50 cent coin. I was in pain, but I could still finish buying the instant noodles i needed and walked home.
I put an ice pack on it, and I went to church.
I find it a bit swollen now, and it's a bit stiff (hard for me to bend my leg because the knee is swollen).
You might think that I am making a fuss over something so minor. I hope it's minor.
A friend of mine slipped and fell two years ago at the residential college in uni, and fractured her knee. She had to go through so many visits to physios and doctors. And still, she has to go through this surgery in a few weeks time to remove the fractures in her knee.
My right knee has undergone so much pain, so much disasters. I feel so sorry for it, seriously.
2008, Subang Jaya, ss15, a very cute and innocent boy was happily jogging and he tripped and fell, hurting his right knee and the rough asphalt surface scrubbed a big patch of skin off his right knee. Causing infection and the scar still remains till now.
2009, USJ. The innocent boy started going to the gym, and was making very good progress at the gym. One evening, having just returned from the gym, he mysteriously dislocated his right knee and fell to the ground. The parents were summoned from 300 kilometres away by the terrified boy, relatives in KL were also called to the scene. Paramedics arrived, and the boy was carried to the hospital on an ambulance.
The kneecap was 'pushed' to the right side, so instead of how it should stay at the 'middle' it was on the right side of where it should be. I couldn't squat for months. A chinese sinseh specialising in 'orthopaedics' told me and my parents that it would never be the same again.
From a (nearly) gym-fit 19 year old, i was transformed into a chubby creature because I couldn't go to the gym at all for months.
And now, I don't know. Why bad things keep happening? Hopefully it will turn out alright.
